work education program based in the sport and recreation industry for people with a disability

The City of Monash together with partners Holmesglen Institute and WISE Employment are taking applications for its Australian first work education program based in the sport and recreation industry for people with a disability. Beginning in February 2021 the program will welcome 10 students based at the Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre, Clayton Community Centre and the newly renovated Oakleigh Recreation Centre.

The program is a sister program to the Integrated Practical Placement program based at the Royal Melbourne and Royal Children’s Hospital supported by Department of Jobs Precincts and Regions (DJPR). A report into the IPP Program model commissioned by DJPR showed “it is clear that the IPP Program has had a positive impact on the lives of the young adults who participated in the program, with the majority now in paid employment and more confident to take on work”
