Surfing Victoria would like offer you the opportunity to undertake our water safety program: Surfers Rescue 24/7.

The Surfers Rescue 24/7 program is a free initiative delivered by Surfing Victoria and the Victorian Government designed to provide people with vital education and training to respond to emergencies out in open water environments such as the surf.

While it is currently difficult to deliver the program in the physical sense with social restrictions still in place, Surfing Victoria has taken the steps to deliver the program online. The online course contains all the education and training of our face-to-face courses with the benefit of conducting it all from the convenience of your own laptop, tablet or phone. Again, this course is completely free to undertake.

The course provides knowledge and skills in the follow areas:

 ·       Identifying people in trouble in the water

·       “Rip” Current Education & Wave Types

·       Approaching people in the water

·       Board Rescue Techniques (including a Virtual Reality Board Rescue)

·       Basic First Aid and administering Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

·       Envenomation

With a combination of visual and audio resources as well as our virtual reality board rescue, the course is well equipped to provide users with an engaging program that covers the basics of water safety when out in open water environments such as the surf.
